Healthy Tip #1 – Set yourself up for success!

Think about planning small steps – like adding a salad to one meal each day. As your small changes become a habit, you can add another healthy choice.

  • Prepare more of your own meals. When you prepare your meals at home, you can control what goes in to your food and your portion size.
  • Simplify. Think about adding color, variety and fresh foods instead of counting calories. Try to avoid processed or packaged foods.
  • Read labels. It’s important to know the ingredients and the serving size of the foods you eat. Try to limit yourself to 1 serving and limit the foods that are high in sodium.
  • Drink more water. People don’t realize that dehydration causes tiredness, low energy and headaches. We tend to mistake thirst for hunger.
